Quality Assurance and Data Collection Manager - Full Time 

SUMMARY:

Manage facility’s Quality Assurance program and Production Data Collection. Attend to all matters of food safety for a feed-grade manufacturing plant. Support and enhances the performance of production by analyzing and assessing data collection metrics and product quality data. The manager finds patterns and outliers based on data immediately available and/or collected over time and utilizes these to improve product quality and recommend process improvements to appropriate staff. Assist as a stand-in for data collection and QA teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages facility quality program: Performs and documents good laboratory practices (GLP), current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and internal audits; audits products, stability programs, complaints, and related systems and identifies in-house quality issues.
  • Oversee data collection program: identify data collection process, develop protocols, design documents, create or keep-up framework for data entry, train staff data.
  • Train relevant staff on:
    • quality program, product quality, QA/QC procedures, product safety and regulatory requirements.
    • data collection and entry.
  • Leads product nonconformance investigations.
    • Prepares audit reports and performs follow-up to obtain resolutions that are compliant with regulations and satisfactory to all parties.
    • Prepares impact assessments for process and procedural deviations.
  • Receives and reviews data collection reports; makes corrections as needed.
  • Responds to staff inquiries regarding quality and data collection.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of food technology, microbiology, and chemistry sufficient to fulfill the needs of this position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing or 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Certified PCQI strongly preferred: An overall knowledge of quality assurance management procedures, CGMPs, and FSMA is needed.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel program and experience with data integration is required. Proficient in other MS Office suite programs.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with laboratory environment, equipment and safety procedures.
  • Experience in research and development, including an understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally in a professional manner. Ability to work with minimal supervision and execute job expectations timely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with plant personnel, external suppliers, sales staff and administrative personnel.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to see rational solutions to quality and food safety issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and projects.

Manufacturing Engineer - Full Time 

SUMMARY:
Leads the company’s mechanical engineering efforts.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Specifies, designs, analyzes, simulates, prototypes, builds, tests, documents, and releases to manufacturing required mechanical systems.
  • Organizes, plans, tracks, and resolves design problems associated with product performance in engineering, manufacturing, and the field.
  • Provides assistance with system level architectural design as well as the development of specifications, schedules, and test plans related to product development activities and product upgrades.
  • Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure design specifications meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Develops product performance testing; incorporates required design changes to address problem resolution.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors as required.
  • Interacts and collaborates effectively with internal and external team members to assure needs of the company are met.
  • Investigates and thoroughly understands developments in mechanical engineering and computer technology.
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in related field.
  • One to three years related experience or equivalent preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Four to six years related experience or equivalent preferred.

Applied Entomologist  - Full Time 

SUMMARY:
Lead, designs, executes and analyzes research trials focused on improving productivity of EnviroFlight operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Designs, executes, analyzes and reports on research projects conducted with black soldier fly (BSF) larvae in all aspects of production
  • Oversees BSF related laboratory experiments
  • Instructs R&D Technicians in applicable areas of entomology
  • Engaged in monitoring and meeting standards for production quality and consistency of product
  • Recommends and guides EnviroFlight research program 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has direct supervisory responsibilities with R&D Technicians participating in research projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • PhD in entomology, animal science or related field required.
  • Experience rearing black soldier fly larvae, or other insect species preferred.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:  Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to handle the dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-tasking environment of a rapidly growing agriculture/biotechnology company.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting maintaining a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of common laboratory techniques related to insects/ biology.
